EGM - Thursday 15th March - formal confirmation of transfer and merger
with Community First

Members are invited to attend an Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Thursday 15th March 2018.  This will be at Fareham Community Church, 173 West Street, PO16 0EF starting at 10 am – welcome from 9.30

The business to be conducted at the Extra-Ordinary General Meeting will be:

  •  Approve the transfer of all assets and liabilities to Communities First Wessex, for the continuation of the charitable purposes and activities in Fareham through merger from 1st April 2018.
  • That within a reasonable time after transfer of all assets and liabilities, that the Board of Trustees closes the charitable company and it be removed from the Charity Commission register.


  1. That the transfer will include all staff members and volunteers who wish to transfer.
  2. That funds will be used for the support of groups and individuals in Fareham to improve quality of life, though the continued delivery of services in Fareham by the merged charity.
  3. That restricted funds will be used for those original intentions

 Members are welcome to join us from 9.30 to be ready to start the meeting at 10 am. In addition to the AGM we will hold a training session and we will finish with lunch.

2017 AGM and Annual Conference: Time to Volunteer


We welcomed a record number of delegates to the Community Action Fareham AGM and Conference on 9th November.  Thank you to all who attended and contributed to its success.

Time to Volunteer

The conference theme of Time to Volunteer was introduced by our two guest speakers:

Donna Tew spoke on the subject of Flexible Volunteering.

The speakers were followed by active discussion of the topics by all, with shared feedback.  Feedback from the shared learning can be viewed here

Membership Consultation

Community Action Fareham Trustee Sue Bailey, led a Membership Consultation session.  This built on the Member surveys we have been conducting this year to learn how we can best meet the needs of our Member organisations and how we and our Members can work together to ensure the future success of the charity.  You can view the Membership Consultation feedback here.

Volunteering Achievement Award

The Conference drew to a close with the presentation of our annual Volunteering Achievement Award, which this year was awarded to the Alzheimer's Society.
